Miria Nowamukama is a global health leader and a bioethicist with over a decade of experience in health research, women empowerment and rights protection of vulnerable groups. She has a masters of Health Science in Bioethics from Makerere University. As the CEO of Ubuntu Initiative for Vulnerable persons, she leads with compassion, empathy and integrity with a desire to end gender and health inequalities across Africa and beyond.

Seeing any unfair treatment, poverty, unemployment, increasing domestic violence cases breaks her heart yet these mostly affect women and children. This makes her work tirelessly towards combating such societal issues that exist in many African countries and the world over. Her passion for making a socio-economic impact has been her childhood dream since she grew up from a humble background which compelled her to mobilize her colleagues and communities to make a positive change among the poor and vulnerable communities to better the future generation. She believes that every human being deserves the best treatment, healthy living and descent lifestyle.
